The Legends of Equestria Book 3 Chapter: 5Chapter 5: The Blizzard
Twilight had packed her provisions tight into her new heavy-duty saddlebag, and started off for the Wintry North, where her brother and the rest of her friends were. Twilight soon came to the edge of the Everfree Forest, staring into the consuming blackness. The chattering and shrill chirping of the animals and insects were the first thing that hit her. The fresh smell of damp foliage was the next. What she was seeing from her other senses completely contradicted her sight. She felt a certain serenity that she'd never felt before. Not even when she had been in her coma sleeping in her dream room.
She took the first step inside the forest and kept going. She'd never been there at night before. It was a whole new sensation to Twilight. She passed the first few trees and broke into a trot. Twilight looked around for a second, marveling at the strange beauty of the Everfree. So many memori

Toran mounted Altair, and Hiccup and Snotlout mounted their dragons and took off for Berk. Hiccup and Toran were talking nearly endlessly throughout the flight to Snotlout's annoyance.
"Hey, lovebirds. Stop talking!" he shouted.

Across the room, the phone rang. The shrill sound set my teeth to grinding, but I ignored it. Instead I followed the killer’s bloody footprints into the back bedroom. He’d climbed out the window. If I hurried, I could catch up to him and end this disgusting spree he was on.
Then the answering machine kicked in. “Hi, Gramma! It’s Red. Sorry I’m running late. I kind of lost track of time. But don’t worry. I packed the picnic and I’m heading out the door right now. Love you.”
She’d been expec
